The NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS® and its affiliated Institutes, Societies, and Councils provide a wide-range of programs and services that assist members in increasing skills, proficiency, and knowledge. Designations and certifications acknowledging experience and expertise in various real estate sectors are awarded by NAR and each affiliated group upon completion of required courses.

 

Here are some of the designations Susan Annoura holds and what they mean:

 

 

    ABR:  Accredited Buyer’s Representative                                             

ABR is a designation from the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council that trains experienced REALTORS® in specifically representing the real estate Buyer.

The ABR designation is awarded to real estate practitioners who complete a comprehensive two-day REBAC course in buyer representation, achieve a passing grade on the written examination, demonstrate practical experience by completing and closing five real estate transactions in which the candidate functioned as a buyer’s representative and who maintain a membership in good standing with the National Association of REALTORS® and the Real Estate BUYER’S AGENT Council.

 

 

 

                 

 

 MCNE: Master Certified Negotiation Expert

 

The MCNE designation is the premier negotiation designation in real estate. Earning  the MCNE designation demonstrates that one has invested considerable effort to bring his/her negotiation skills to the highest professional level in real estate.  Courses cover topics such as the Competitive vs. Collaborative Bargaining, Persuasion Principles, and intensive skill practice/role play.  The MCNE® designation is awarded to agents who successfully complete all of the following courses through the Real Estate Negotiation Institute:

 

– Certified Negotiation Expert (2 days)
– Mastering Email Negotiations in Real Estate (1 day)
– Advanced Negotiation Techniques for Buyer’s Agents (1 day)
– Advanced Negotiation Techniques for Listing Agents (1 day)
– Negotiating Across Generations in Real Estate (3 hours)
– Cultural Factors in Real Estate Negotiations (3 hours)

 

 

 

                    

 

 CIPS:  Certified International Property Specialist

 

The Certified International Property Specialist Network (CIPS Network) comprises 2,000 real estate professionals from 50 countries and is the specialty membership group for global business practitioners of the National Association of REALTORS®. The CIPS® designation prepares REALTORS® to service the growing international market in their local community by focusing on culture, exchange rates, investment trends, and legal issues.  This designation may be earned after successfully completing an intensive seven-day program of study focusing on critical aspects of transnational transactions, including currency and exchange rate issues, and cross-cultural relationships, regional market conditions, investment performance, tax issues and more. U.S. members must be a REALTOR® and a member of the National Association of REALTORS®.

 

 

 

                                    
GRI:  Graduate Realtor Institute                                    

 

Developed for members of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) and offered through State REALTOR® Associations, the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) program recognizes those who achieve the designation – GRI, as those real estate professionals who have made a commitment to providing a superior level of professional services to better serve and protect their clients. It involves intense study, covering many special aspects of real estate such as residential marketing, cost basis, appreciation methods, investment real estate, construction, real estate tax concepts, exchanges, capital gains, and various types of mortgage programs.

This designation may only be earned after successfully completing a rigorous educational program. This program requires 92 hours of live course instruction from a statewide faculty selected because of extensive experience in their own areas of expertise.

 

 

 
         

 

 e-Pro                        

                                                                  

NAR’s e-PRO® Certification Program teaches you to use cutting-edge technologies and digital initiatives to link up with today’s savvy real estate consumer. Course topics for Day 1 include the changing market, creating an online presence and reputation management. Day 2 provides hands-on discovery of business tech tools, such as an e-strategy, micro-blogging and NAR resources. Students will be awarded the e-PRO® certification upon completion of both days.  This designation may be earned after successfully completing 5 areas presented entirely online.

 

 

 

 

                       

    TRLP: Texas Realtors Leadership Program      

 

The Texas Association of REALTORS® has developed a new leadership program that allows local associations to expand upon and deliver to their members. This leadership-training program is a compelling resource for REALTOR® organizations to find ways to identify and nurture strong, future leaders.

The Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program consists of eight day-long modules, presented one module per month to a class of future REALTOR® leaders over an eight-month time frame. Two of the modules, Diversity and Spokesperson Training, come with 16 MCE hours total. However, the real value of the program is in developing quality leaders for the REALTOR® organization at all levels.

 

 

 

                

 

AHWD:  At Home With Diversity                                      

 

At Home With Diversity® is an educational opportunity designed to present a picture of the changing face of the real estate industry to real estate brokers, agents, association executives and anyone associated with the industry. The certification teaches real estate professionals how they can increase their sensitivity and adaptability to future market trends. It addresses issues of diversity, fair housing and cultural differences. Participants will learn practical skills and tools to expand business and effectively service all cultural groups.
